Just some updates

springbrook prairie path

Welcome all! This post is just to let you know about a few small updates and also to encourage you to get some chatter going on the Facebook page so we can get some nice big group runs going!

I’ve updated the Tuesday/Thursday runs to repeat until Fall. Since I don’t think there has been enough turnout for anyone to be bored of them yet, we are going to keep the Tuesday/Thursday runs at the same locations  thru the month of June.

I also updated the directions on the Tuesday location to hopefully make it easier to find. Sorry for any confusion so far. Here are the new directions but they are also on the meetup.
“***Parking lot is one block NORTH(Up-River) of the Mill Street bridge off of Rt. 25/River Street. There is a park district sign that says ‘Fox River Trail’.***”

I also found a way on Meetup to move the Google Maps marker so it is directly on the parking spot instead of the closest intersection so hopefully that will help as well.

Looking forward to seeing more people out at the runs. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get back into running, or the right time to join us for a first group run, guess what? Now is the right time! ::grins:: We can work with you whatever your pace, I don’t mind going easier then usual and if you are way faster then me I’ll just ride a bike and let you do all the hard work!

Anytime you want to join us for a group run, but are perhaps concerned that no one at your pace will be there, just go ahead and let everyone know a few days/or week in advance and say something like “I’m going to run 3 miles at a 10:30/mile pace at the Tuesday morning run, who wants to join me?”

This will help bring out other people your pace and get the group runs up to a nice size where we can have multiple pace groups for people. And you are welcome to do this if you are a new member, old member, never been to a group run, anyone! The board is for any group member, not just the regular ones. The goal is get everyone out running, make some new buddies, and enjoy the nice trails. So go ahead and take advantage of the great tool Facebook is for this sort of thing and post away!

Also, we can add races that lots of people are doing to the Meetup so that we can enjoy the races as a group. You can make a Facebook post that says something like “I’m going to the ‘Super-Duper 5k’ who else is going?” If a few people say they are, or they want to, make a comment and say “Please add this race to the Meetup” and we will get it on there if it is far enough in advance. This works best for races 4 weeks or more out so we won’t post stuff that is like 1-2 weeks away.

I can’t find the survey you would like us to take. I have tried twice but still cannot find it.

Hey Mike. If you are looking for the survey I mention in the email, it is on our Facebook page. Go here- https://www.facebook.com/groups/291926467557641/

and it should be one of the top few posts. Hope that helps, if not let me know. Thank you for joining in!

I went to the URL and still got only a page with the pictures of the members and nothing else. I couldn’t see any posts.

Oh, you have to join the Facebook group because it is a private group. There should be a button that says something like ‘join’. I’ll have to approve your request, if I see it tonight I’ll do it right away otherwise I’ll do it tomorrow.
