A running club with weekly Group Runs in Aurora, IL., Montgomery, IL. and Oswego, IL.
This page will compile all the races, events, and volunteer opportunities that local organizers inform us about. While there are dozens of races nearly every month of the racing season, the promoters of these events have made a special effort to share the information with us and we are glad to spread the word. If you have an event you would like listed here, please email Ellen (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least one month in advance.
If you are a club member and you are running in any race, listed here or otherwise, we would love to know about it! Email me with the race info and you just may find yourself with a cheering section!

“As one of the most unique 5K events in Chicagoland that is open to both competitive runners and recreational walkers, Ozzie’s Home Run and Walk 5K will start and finish on the field at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark with the finish line at home plate. Participants will be seen on the ballpark’s new videoboard through a live-feed camera and can receive a high-five from Ozzie T. Cougar. Families with children are encouraged to participate as strollers are permitted and there is a special discounted rate for participants between 5 and 18 years old.
The first 500 registrants will receive a commemorative Cougars/Ozzie race drawstring bag along with a complimentary ticket voucher for the Friday, June 5 Cougars game. Other surprises on race day include door prizes and raffles for ceremonial first pitches, unique ballpark experiences and more. The top three male and female finishers in 14 age division categories will win a customized race medal with the Ozzie’s Home Run and Walk logo, courtesy of Image Awards, Engraving & Creative Keepsakes, Inc. of Geneva. Following the race, participants can enjoy a variety of refreshments including a complimentary brat and beer for participants 21 and older. The event, which will feature chip timing this year, included a total of 500 participants in 2014.”
